YOU’VE GOTTA SEE THIS: Jo Hikk’s “My Kind of Radio”
For weeks now, I’ve been raving about Jo Hikk’s “My Kind of Radio”. The song first hit me over a year ago when I first heard them perform it live during a broadcast I had at a camping store here in the city.
Fast forward to today, and the video for the song has blown me (and a lot of the country music industry) away, using some amazing locations and stories within the story.
Mike McGuire – CISN Country 103.9 FM Radio Edmonton
“I like these guys and I really like this song. Here’s a band I’d like to invest in and give a chance. There’s talent here and they create music that’s tasty and something you can sink your teeth into.”

“If you’re looking for something to heat up these winter months, get yourself a copy of Ride, buckle up and prepare for one hell of a fun and entertaining trip!”

“Falling somewhere between the mainstream appeal of Rascal Flatts and the outlaw edginess of Montgomery Gentry, Jo Hikk have recorded an excellent rockin’ country album that features solid songs, impressive playing and impeccable production. Their debut disc “Ride” easily puts the quartet in the same league as Doc Walker, Emerson Drive and the Roadhammers”

“Get In! Sit Down! And Buckle Up!… because Jo Hikk’s newly released cd, “Ride” is going to do just that. . . take you on a ride of the most enjoyable musical journey you’ve ever taken in a long while.
This album continues to show off the talents of a band that has everything going their way but recognition, which is bound to change after a release of this quality”.
Review by Steve Miller, Dark Horse Music & Artist Promotion NASHVILLE

Jo Hikk in “What’s on Winnipeg”
..You might recognize the name Jo Hikk from last year’s CCMAs, where the Calgary-based country-rock quartet, led by brothers Kelly and Kenny Sitter, was nominated for the Chevy Rising Star Award.
Ride proves the nomination was deserved.
Falling somewhere between the mainstream appeal of Rascal Flatts and the outlaw edginess of Montgomery Gentry, Jo Hikk has recorded an excellent rockin’ country album that features solid songs, impressive playing and impeccable production by George Canyon and Rick Mizzoni. Canyon also co-wrote one of the disc’s standout tracks, My Kind of Radio with Gordie Sampson. Jo Hikk can lay claim to being the second Canadian act (House of Doc was the first) this year to successfully put its own stamp on The Stampeders’ classic Sweet City Woman. The band does not write much of its own material, but then again, just because you don’t forge the nails doesn’t mean you’re a bad carpenter.
Ride easily enters Jo Hikk into the same league as Doc Walker, Emerson Drive and The Roadhammers.
